Officials Leadership Group:

The GMHL Officiating Department functions with a traditional "Officials Committee" which has been in strength for 18 years. The committee is composed of three Area Managers, who are senior skating officials. Thus, the platform of officials leading officials offers a beneficial supportive foundation of skill & ability with mature leadership for both officials and the league.

The committee is the governing body for all resources within the GMHL for officiating services and related departments. It is commissioned to recrute officials, promote, demote, coach, train, test, evaluate performance, investigate complaints & service failures identified by the league, while acting within GMHL Policies. All matters of business is the united responsibility of the committee membership. Therefore, officials and league ownership, including team owners, can trust the decisions of the membership.

As the governing body, the Committee Members work directly with the League Commissioner on all business matters whereby it pertains to officiating services.

The common goal of the membership is to deliver effective and efficient services with continued program growth.

 

Chairman - Allan Madill

Central Area Manager

Allan Madill has served as a senior official with the GMHL for 17 years. He came to the league with an extensive hockey background with a rich history of success. 

A few noteworthy accomplishments, is his involvement as a Supervisor, Instructor, Mentor, and Area Rep. Moreover, Throughout Allan's GMHL career, he has been a recipient of the Commissioner's Ring and an Official of the Year award.

Allan is one of the Pioneer Authors of the early GMHL Rulebook, which is in continued development for ongoing improvement as the league continues to grow.

As Chairman of the Officials Committee, Allan welcomes his responsibilities. His focus is to continue the standards of fair and impartial policy application.

Roger Proulx

Southern Area Manager

Roger Proulx has served with the GMHL as a senior official for 18 years. When he joined the GMHL, his desire was to extend his officiating career in junior hockey with many of the people he had worked with in previous leagues.

Roger was recognized for his experience and he accepted an opportunity to join the Training & Development Department as an instructor. He has also served as RIC and worked closely with Operations to ensure service excellence. From Recruiting to Supervisor, Roger is excited to continue his journey as Southern Area Manager.

Roger is also a recipient of the following awards: Official of the Year and the Commissioner's Ring.

Ron Michaud

Northern Area Manager

Ron Michaud joined the GMHL in the league's inception season 19 years ago. Ron is one of the founding officials with rich GMHL history. Ron has contributed in the North over the years assisting in his officiating community. With a tight group of officials as proof of his respect, Ron brings his legacy with him to the Committee.

Ron Michaud has also served the GMHL as a Supervisor, Mentor, and an Area Rep. His GMHL Career is complimented with the very first awarded Commissioner;s Ring and an Official of the Year award.

Ron's commitment to his fellow officials and the league stands as a benchmark for all affiliates of the league, as a fine example of care & compassion for the game and everyone who participated in it.
